Indie-pop masters The Island Club have been busy recently. Here they share with us the most photo-worthy moments of The Great Escape festival
Brighton-based indie act, The Island Club seem to be ticking all the ‘hot new group alert’ boxes, having gathered support across the board since their first release ‘Paper Kiss’ last year. While their previous two releases have been relatively mellow, Michael, David, Sam, Barney and Julien add a rock-edge to their indie-pop sound on their latest track ‘Let Go’.
Kind enough to send us through some snaps from their adventures, we take a look at their time at the Great Escape Festival this weekend.
We played our show pretty early on the Thursday, but people still packed the place out and everyone was getting into the festival spirit. Massive fun!
After our first show we were released onto Brighton. We’re from here, but it’s like a different city when all the festivals are going on and we were enjoying re-exploring when we wandered into Spotify’s artist lounge.
The Spotify people were all proper good guys and gals, and they were very generous with their food and drink…..
We met some awesome bands here over the weekend, and completely rinsed the photo booth. Here’s one with The Big Moon. Top Gals
On Friday we caught Kevin Garrett, an incredible songwriter, and an equally lovely man.
A windy break on the Brighton seafront
The Spiegel Tent was wonderful on Friday night, the vibe was electric.
Saturday night saw the closing night and last act on our schedule was the mighty Mystery Jets. It was an incredible way to end the Festival. Even though it wasn’t the end ’cause we partied loads afterwards (obviously).
