We go backstage with one of drum n bass’ finest
Wilkinson’s latest single ‘Flatline’, featuring NOTION favourite Wretch 32, is set to be a summer smash. Its sunshine filled synths and infectious, slow building groove perfectly compliment Wretch’s cheeky flow and are only going to get more undeniable as the months pass and the weather warms up. As he gets ready for his second album and a summer tour that’s set to take him across the globe, we got the rising star to share some exclusive backstage snaps of his recent gig at the Forum in Kentish Town.
“Backstage minutes before we’re about to go on stage! Everyone is wiring up their in-ears and trying to contain there nerves.”
“Mid show! I love looking back at photos of the lights and pyrotechnics after the show. From where i’m standing its absolute carnage, smoke firing everywhere and strobe lights blurring the crowd while I’m trying to hit my drum pads. For me, the feeling I get on stage with all the flashing lights and bass is so addictive!”
“My MC ‘Ad-apt’. One of the funniest most energetic people I know. He puts so much energy into the show and jumps around, shouting continuously for an hour. Thus he’s eating ribs, preparing for the hour ahead on stage. Few people know that as well as being my MC, he reviews every hotel and restaurant that we go to, putting him in the top 2 highest reviewers on Trip Advisor.”
“This is me and my manager backstage after my show at the O2 Forum, I’m buzzing after coming off stage and he’s congratulating me on my performance but urging me to post more photos on social media.”
